DEEPA PAUL

Born to Filipino and Indian parents in Manila, the Philippines, Deepa Paul is the author of the memoir ASK ME HOW IT WORKS: LOVE IN AN OPEN MARRIAGE (Viking Books UK, 2025). Gillian Anderson has described ASK ME as ‘stunningly vulnerable and poetic… if this doesn’t change your perspective on relationships, nothing will.’

Her memoir has been translated into Dutch (Je mag me alles vragen, Uitgeverij Nieuw Amsterdam) and German (Wie es mir gefaellt, hanserblau), and soon into Albanian.

Deepa and her book have been featured on ITV’s This Morning, in The Times of London, the Daily Mail, the Irish Independent, the Sydney Morning Herald, Stylist, Vogue Australia, Het Parool, on RTE Radio 1, NPO Radio 1, and more.

She has written for Seventeen Magazine Philippines, The Philippine StarPhilippine Daily Inquirer, and Singapore Women’s Weekly, while her personal essays have been published in RED Magazine, CheexGal-Dem, the Sky Island Journal, Expanded Field and Rappler

Previously, Deepa was a copywriter for GMA-7, the Philippines’ largest TV network, and for global entertainment brands such as NBC Universal, The Disney Channel, HBO and Netflix.

She lives in Amsterdam with her husband, daughter, and cranky black cat.
